  • 2 Ethapazham / ripe banana
  • 1 cup Maida
  • Salt (A pinch)
  • Baking soda (A pinch)
  • ΒΌ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp Sugar
  • Water (as needed)
  • Oil (For frying)

Instructions

  • Peel off the banana skin and cut it into lengthwise slices.
  • In a mixing bowl, add maida, salt, sugar, baking soda, turmeric powder and water mix well. The batter should be thick.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Take one piece of banana and dip it in the batter and fry it in the oil.
  • Fry both sides well and take it out.
  • Valakka appam is ready to serve with tea.
